Berlin in a Basket
— 2019 —
Berlin in a Basket is an infographic work based on data from the Berlin Statistical Office, representing the number of people from each continent currently living in Berlin.
The textile sculptures or baskets recreate processes of generation, assimilation and cultural transformation in the context of Berlin. At the same time, they recall primitive forms of representation of the origin of life and the diffuse relationship between making, sheltering and dwelling.
Each basket represents the number of inhabitants of Berlin per continent.
The work consists of a diptych together with the work Infographic Weave.
